Dawn is a registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance (500 E-CRYT), she is the founder and developer of Namaste Baby, yoga classes for Moms, Dads, and Caregivers and infants. She has dedicated her life to promoting health and wellness to those individuals who are ready to commit to a healthier way of life, a mindful existence, and a belief that our thoughts lead to action.
Dawn specializes in prenatal yoga, mom (caregiver) and infant yoga, family yoga and kids yoga, and men’s yoga in addition to her adult all level yoga classes. She also offers therapeutic yoga service for survivors of PTSD, and has received her certification in Trauma Sensitive Yoga with David Emerson & Jenn Turner. www.traumacenter.org
Dawn also teaches Mat Pilates & Reformer classes, and has more recently received her certification in the VBarre Method a fusion of classical ballet, Pilates, and resistance training, co-created by Veronica Combs and Jacqueline Aguirre. www.vbarre.com
Teachings that have shaped her own practice and teaching style are those teacher trainings and workshops she has taken with Shari Simon, David Swenson, Beryl Bender Birch, David Williams, and Shakta Kaur Khalsa, Sue Elkind and Amy Cronise-Mead, (just to name a few).
Dawn believes that education is a key to understanding and personal strength. It is this belief that keeps her involved in a continuing process of learning to keep her skills sharp and to continue to be a resource for her students.
Dawn has been truly blessed to have received the guidance of many outstanding and compassionate teachers/guides, especially the guidance provided by her two Master Gurus, Evan and Liam, in the development of Namaste Baby!, Namaste Child!, and the fine art of play. Dawn is eternally grateful for their support and never-ending love.
Noelle Penney is currently completing her 200 hour teacher training program in Iyengar based yoga with Karin Eisen and has received her Namaste Baby Level 1 Training with Dawn Greenly. Inspired by having taken the Namaste Baby Class with her son, Niko, she became more interested in sharing yoga with others, especially Mom & Infant Yoga and yoga therapy, more specifically yoga therapy to cancer survivors and their families. Noelle is a “full time” mom to her 2 year old son Niko, and understands the challenges mothers with young children face daily. Teaching Namaste Baby classes is very important to her because she feels it helps enhance that special bond between mother and child at an early age. She knows from experience that these classes also offer a judgment free zone where new moms, and dads, can connect with each other and share a little adult interaction. Besides yoga, Noelle also enjoys walking with her son in the park, reading a good mystery book, and playing with her Bichon Frise “Lyla”.
Sasha is a registered yoga teacher with the Yoga Alliance (200 RYT). She received her training in Vinyasa yoga in the Ashtanga lineage, in 2011, at Dyhana Yoga in Philadelphia. She has completed Childlight Yoga Level 1 and Level 2 and Namaste Baby Level 1 Training with Dawn Greenly. She is also a Licensed Massage therapist, specializing in prenatal and postnatal massage. Sasha has been practicing yoga for 9 years and it has helped her in all areas of her life. Her son, Reggie was born in 2012 and they started doing yoga together when he was an infant. It helped them to develop a bond and it helped her to become stronger as a new mom, mentally and physically. She loves to be around other moms and babies, and loves to share yoga with them to help them on their journey.
Tamara’s interest in yoga accelerated into a passion shortly after she moved to the area in June 1998. Yoga provided a pathway to health, fitness, peace of mind, relaxation and spirituality. She believes in yoga’s potential to improve one’s life and makes the practice of yoga an integral part of her life journey. She completed a teacher training with David Swenson in the Ashtanga Yoga System in March 2002. She continues to expand her knowledge and understanding by participating in workshops, seminars and conferences in yoga and related fields.
Some of the workshops and conferences that have shaped my yoga practice include:
Chakras and the Energetic Body with Shari Simon
Prenatal Yoga Training with Carrie Parker Gastelu
